Envinity is committed to using local, natural materials whenever possible. We recognize that black locust is a healthier, more sustainable solution than pressure treated wood. We also try to use natural wood finishes, low-VOC finishes, formaldehyde-free plywood for cabinetry, natural wall finishes, and other materials that are recognized as healthy alternatives to typical construction materials. We tend to like wood, as it is a renewable resource, and we like to let it show its character, including minor “defects” such as sapwood, knots, interesting grain patterns, etc.
