Timber Framing
Timber framing is a traditional method of constructing a building using large dimension framing members. The timbers are larger than would normally be found in a typical “stick-framed” building, and are usually fully exposed to the interior of the finished home. The timber framed structure becomes a focal point of the home, providing both strength and an honest element of beauty, whether rustic or refined.
If the hearth is the heart of the home, then the timber frame must be the soul. When the frame is raised – usually a relatively quick process – the “body” of the home springs to life, the shape defined by large, solid timbers that evoke a sense of permanence.
