Welcome to the 2015 High Performance Housing Tour!

Join us THIS WEEKEND for the High Performance Housing Tour!  Click HERE for a printable PDF of the day’s events.

For the second consecutive year, the High Performance Housing Tour will showcase some of the Centre Region’s most energy efficient homes.  We have revamped the Tour to include comments from last years participants.  So what’s new in 2015?

  • Including homes that have been renovated to increase energy efficiency and home comfort.  Participants can expect to see new heating and cooling technology, air sealing and insulation techniques, and solar power systems.
  • Participants can now visit any of the homes on the Tour between 11 am and 3 pm at your own schedule and leisure.   Either the homeowner or homeowner’s representative will be there to greet you upon arrival.
  • More direct education.  This year we are ending the Tour at the Happy Valley Vineyard and Winery from 4 pm to 7 pm where there will be vendors, presentations, a panel discussion, and most importantly, food and wine.  Snacks will be provided by our friends at Eden View Organics.  Its a great way to ask questions and network with local high performance builders.

In a community filling up with sprawling housing developments and cookie cutter designs, the High Performance Housing Tour is here to show that innovative homes are being built in an environmentally sustainable way, using building techniques derived from passive solar design, ENERGY STAR, and Passive House.  For the renovated homes on the tour, you will see the potential your own home has to come close to net zero energy through the implementation of building science principles.

While pre-registration is not required and anyone may attend the Tour, it would be helpful to the organizers to have an idea on attendance.  To that, we ask that you complete the Form below indicating your intent to join us on Saturday, August 1st.  More details of the event will be posted on this site, Facebook, and Twitter.

See you on the High Performance Housing Tour!
