Project Description
-
- Unique features: Geothermal Central Plant, adding a Tower with no additional utility cost.
- Envinity was selected as the third-party commissioning authority from design phase through acceptance and warranty. Project challenges include an aggressive Energy Use Intensity goal for both the existing facility and new addition. Approaches for meeting this goal include a geothermal central plant, heat recovery chillers, and utilizing Monitoring-based Commissioning (MBCx) approach for both existing hospital and new tower. The project includes a 5-story addition to the existing hospital and surface parking located adjacent to the existing hospital. Few firms in the nation can customize and utilize Fault Detection and Diagnostic (FDD) tools to commission projects at this scale. This project is expected to meet qualifications to become LEED Gold upon completion in 2027.
